Honda Civic 5th Generation (1992-1997)

Launched on September 10th 1991, the 5th generation Civic brings the streamlined wedge of the past two generations one step further, with a much more curved shape.

Available only in 3 door hatchback and 4 door saloon, the 5 door Shuttle body is dropped. There are 3 main UK specifications DX, ESi and VTi, with a variety of lower specification special editions. The VTi is powered by the next generation of Hondas B16a DOHC VTEC engines and the ESi by the new D16 SOHC VTEC, producing less power but returning greater fuel efficiency than it B16 bigger brother.

A unique feature of the 3 door hatch back models is a split rear hatch, the glass section opening upwards for easy access to the boot area and the lower section opening downwards to enable access for heavier items.
